There are four mailing lists about Oz and Mozart: users, hackers, announce, and meps.
The users list is for discussion among users. The Mozart Consortium developers also read this list and provide answers to questions.
The hackers list is where developers discuss implementation aspects of Mozart. Interested users are invited to join, but be aware that we may reach levels of detail well beyond the reach of the casual user ;-) Messages submitted by non-members will be automatically discarded.
The announce list covers announcements of new Mozart releases, as well as of tools or libraries. Announcements are also sent on the users list, so you don't need to subscribe to both.
The meps list is where Mozart Enhancement Proposals (MEPs) should be initially submitted to the MEP editors. However, all discussions should take place on the hackers list.
Note that you need to be subscribed to a list in order to post. Messages sent by non-subscribers need to be approved manually by a moderator before they are forwarded to the list. If you prefer to read our lists via the newsgroup, you still need to be subscribed in order to post, but you can use the mailman interface to disable "Mail delivery" to your email address.
Also, note that, if you wish to be able to post from several distinct email addresses, you should subscribe all of them. Normally, you would probably also want to disable "Mail delivery" for all but one of these addresses.
The mailing lists used to be available as newsgroups on a public news server. This service is no longer available.
